Progressive Urology, A Division of NY Health provides patients with Board Certified Urologists focusing on patient care in a warm friendly environment. Our physicians have specialized knowledge and skill regarding problems of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs. Because of the variety of clinical problems encountered, we also have knowledge of internal medicine, pediatrics and gynecology. We provide a full range of urologic care, including diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, bladder cancer. We stay up-to-date on the latest medical technology including Cyberknife treatment for Prostate Cancer, Cool Wave Microwave Thermotherapy, Green Light Laser, Robotic surgery, ESWL treatment for Kidney Stones and No-Scalpel Vasectomies. Most urologic procedures can be performed in the comfort and safety of our office-based surgery facility. Progressive Urology accepts most major insurance plans & Medicare. Progressive Urology provides patients with AAAASF Certified Office Based Surgery Facility and Certified Pathology with an onsite Board Certified Pathologist. This includes Cytology, Biopsy, Florescent Insitu Hybridization or FISH and Urinary Cultures.
Dimitri N. Kessaris, MD
Dr. Dimitri N. Kessaris is the Medical Director at Progressive Urology which has multiple locations throughout Long Island and Queens, including Manhasset, Forest Hills and Astoria. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology. Hospital affiliations include: North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, Winthrop University Hospital, New York Hospital Queens and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is also a member of professional organizations including the American Urological Association, the Hellenic Medical Society, and the Medical Society of the County of Queens. He is fluent in Greek and English.
Dr. Kessaris received his Bachelors of Arts in Chemistry at New York University and Medical degree from Stony Brook University Medical School. He did his general surgery and urology residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Michael Ohebshalom, MD
When patients need top-quality urology care in a friendly and welcoming environment, they come to Dr. Michael Ohebshalom. Dr. Ohebshalom strives to be thorough and make his patients feel entirely comfortable.
After beginning his career in medicine at Cornell University Medical School, Dr. Ohebshalom completed residencies in general surgery and urology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center, respectively. Dr. Ohebshalom has won a number of awards, including the Andlinger Fellowship Award from the American Austrian Foundation. Showing his expertise in the research realm, Dr. Ohebshalom earned a Research Scholar Program Fellowship from the American Foundation for Urologic Disease and the American Urological Association.
When he has the time, Dr. Ohebshalom is an avid world traveler. He likes to stay competitive by playing recreational softball, and running in marathons. A true renaissance man, Dr. Ohebshalom is also an aficionado of antique European art and bronze. He is certified by American Board of Urology, and belongs to the professional association American Urological Association. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi.

Sherman Chan, MD
Dr. Sherman Chan is a urologist treating patients in Brooklyn, Queens, New York City, and the surrounding communities.
